LEADED LANTERN
A tour-de-force of lead-work, Rose Uniacke's large hanging lantern owes its design to the French firm of Perzel who manufactured a similar piece throughout the 1920s using opaline glass. Made in Birmingham, the 19th Century powerhouse of British stained glass and metalwork.
The multi-faceted shade hangs from three simple chains supported by a ceiling rose, running down the centreline is a weighted cable supporting the bulb within an egg shaped housing. Each piece is individually made.
