Hiroki in Shitake
In an elegantly simple motif of neutral toned rectangular lines, Hiroki honors the aesthetic traditions of Japanese tatami. Woven from fragrant grasses, tatami were used to delineate the shapes of domestic spaces, creating malleable rooms where private and public life effortlessly merged. Inspired by this graceful ease, Hiroki’s design is both soft and structured, with a boldly linear presence tempered by the wabi-sabi ease of the handwoven composition.
